Choosing a precision balance
Why 0.01g is essential for weighing your metals.
A precision scale is indispensable for any gold transaction. It must be certified 'Class II' or 'Class III' and have a precision scale resolution of at least 0.01g.
Calibration: Professional scales must be calibrated regularly with certified weights. In Switzerland, buyers are legally required to use scales verified by the Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
The importance of 0.001g: For fine gold or very small pieces, a milligram scale offers a much more accurate valuation, especially at current price levels.
