How to calculate the gold price per gram?

The price of gold is quoted in USD per troy ounce (31.1035g) on international markets. To obtain the price per gram in CHF, three steps are necessary: divide the London Fixing rate by 31.1035, then multiply by the current USD/CHF exchange rate.
Formula: Price/g (CHF) = (LBMA Price in USD ÷ 31.1035) × USD/CHF Rate
Concrete Example: If gold is quoted at 2,900 USD/ounce and USD/CHF is at 0.90, then: (2,900 ÷ 31.1035) × 0.90 = CHF 83.92/g.
For 18-karat gold (750‰), you then multiply by 0.750: CHF 63.00/g. This is the pure theoretical spot price, before any margins or melting fees.
