1Where do the prices displayed on GoldPrice24 come from?
All rates are sourced from the LBMA fixing (London Bullion Market Association), the global reference for precious metals. Prices update every 60 seconds and are expressed in CHF per gram.
2Are the real-time prices free?
Yes. All spot rates (gold, silver, platinum, palladium) and professional calculators are 100% free with no registration required. GoldPrice24 is funded through partnerships and sponsored content.
3Is gold sales subject to VAT in Switzerland?
No. Investment gold (bars, coins above 900‰ purity) is VAT-exempt in Switzerland under Art. 44 LTVA. Physical silver, however, has been subject to an 8.1% VAT since 2024.
4Is gold taxable in Switzerland?
Sales of gold by private individuals are generally treated as private capital gains, not subject to federal income tax. However, profits are declared as income if you trade habitually. Consult a tax advisor for your specific situation.
5How do I calculate my gold scrap value?
Use our Gold Scrap Value calculator: enter the weight in grams, select the purity (18k = 750‰, 14k = 585‰, etc.) and choose your currency. The gross value is automatically calculated using the live LBMA rate.
6What is the difference between price per gram and price per ounce?
One troy ounce (oz t) equals 31.1034768 grams. This is the international quotation unit. GoldPrice24 shows both: the per-ounce price (international) and the per-gram price (practical for goldsmiths and jewellers in Switzerland).
7Where can I sell my gold in Geneva / Zurich / Lausanne?

8Do the calculators work for professional jewellers?

9When are the historical charts updated?
Daily data (1M, 6M, 1Y, ALL) is refreshed once per day. Intraday data (24H, 1W) comes from TwelveData and updates hourly. You can force a refresh with the ↻ button.
