Average weights of rings, chains, bracelets and earrings by type and karat.

Knowing average jewelry weights by category is essential for quickly estimating a lot's value before weighing, or for verifying the consistency of a buyback offer.

Rings: Simple wedding band (3-6g), engagement ring with stone (4-8g), men's signet ring (8-15g), cocktail ring (6-12g). Weight varies considerably by finger size and metal thickness.

Chains and necklaces: Fine chain (2-5g), medium link chain (8-15g), thick curb chain (15-40g), choker (10-20g). Clasps typically weigh 0.5-2g.

Bracelets: Fine chain bracelet (5-10g), rigid bangle (10-25g), men's curb bracelet (20-50g), cuff bracelet (30-60g). Gold watch bracelets weigh 30-80g depending on model.
